San Miguel, Ecuador ? ssp hetaerius |
Widespread but not common, from N. Colombia south throughout
the Amazon Basin to S Brazil. These species and its sisters ( E
glaucolaus, E protesilaus, E
leucosilaus ) are exceedingly difficult to distinguish, and many specimens
even in museums, are misidentified. I am not even 100% sure of the ones
I have shown. Three Subspecies:
molops - Colombia
hetaerius - Amazon
megelurus - S Brazil,
rare
