Common from Panama through the Amazon Basin to SE Brazil and N Argentina. Extremely difficult to separate from the closely related Eurytides molops and protesilaus. I am not completely sure the above specimens are properly identified. Several ssp described:
glaucolaus - Panama
to C Colombia
melaenus - high elevations
in W Colombia
leucas - remainder
of its range
