Argentina. Generally common. Four subspecies, pictured is the nominate
race which occurs throughout the Amazon Basin.

nigricornis - SE
Brazil and N Argentina. Coastal Mountains.
embrikstrandii,
travassosi, pseudosilaus are intergrade forms from SE Brazil,
at one time considered full species (rare).
