Like C carolinensis,
this butterfly seems to be exceedingly rare and local, though it has been
found on both NE Mindanao and S Leyte Islands. Most records are from April
and May, from dense lowland primary forest . Like carolinensis,
it is closely allied with C veiovis (from Celebes).
