A common forest species in tropical (west and central)
Africa east to Tanzania and Kenya. The Ugandan ssp chrapowskoides,
is very close to P. chrapowski (which
may represent the eastern population of bromius, though I am told they
are "clearly separable and sympatric populations") - I find it hard
to believe that interbreeding doesn't occur.
