Confined to the Comoro Islands where it flies in
and around montane forest. May be in danger of extinction if deforestation
proceeds un-checked. It is often treated as a subspecies of Papilio
nireus, although it displays striking sexual dimorphism (unlike
nireus). Apparently it is still locally very common where found.
