Parides alopius (Godman and Salvin, 1890)

Tepoztlan, Morelos, Mexico; 6/70 same data female
Tepoztlan, Morelos, Mexico Underside male; 6/70 same data; underside female

Narrow range in the mountains of western Mexico from S Arizona (?) to Oaxaca. Very local, but due to the remoteness of much of the Mexican mountainous interior, it is probably fairly widespread , and not likely to be under any immediate threat. Reported to be locally common in medium evevation pine forests during the proper season and near its host plant.
