|Obi, Indonesia; abberration with gold and some extra blue in forewing|
Rare and restricted to the small and heavily logged island of
Obi in Indonesia, Its future may depend on commercial ranching which has
ensured its preservation for the time being. Ranching has become a major
source of income for some islanders. The photo does not do justice to the
shades of aqua and turquoise in its wings. Individuals vary in the size
and number or presence / absence of gold on the hind wings.
