Restricted distribution in SW China (though wider
ranging than B. mansfieldi),
extremely local where found. Reportedly may be locally common in the proper
environment and during its limited flight season. A high altitude species,
it is found in rugged plateaus over 2000 meters. It is protected not only
by CITES but by the relative inaccessability of its habitat. (CITES schedule
